Mystery in the Castle. On the trail of Dr Mallowan

Saturday 12 September at 4.00 pm a treasure hunt amongst the ruins of Montereale Valcellina Castle and the museum’s galleries. Participants will have to observe, gather clues and solve a murder… before the truth is buried by history!

The route includes a few sections that go uphill, therefore it is recommended that you wear suitable clothing and footwear.

Cost per participant: €12, including admission to the museum. For groups of at least 4 people, the cost is €10 per participant.

The Days of Silent Cinema
From 3 to 10 October, with 250 films from 19 countries and hundreds of guests expected from all over the world, Pordenone is once again set to become the international capital of silent cinema. The schedule for the screenings practically continued from morning right through to late evening. The films are screened with live musical accompaniment; the captions are translated via electronic subtitles into Italian and/or English. Here is the full programme
Markets Cultural Pordenone
The Mercati Culturali Pordenone, located at 22 Via delle Caserme in Pordenone – on the site of a former fruit and vegetable market – are a cultural hub, a space open to cultural exchange and social inclusion, where the citizens themselves become the driving force behind a vibrant artistic and cultural scene. The venue hosts exhibitions, creative workshops, concerts, training courses and much more. Until 11 October, in particular, the exhibition venue is hosting Venus of the Rags by Michelangelo Pistoletto. Tastes, impressions, messages from a region
On 2, 3 and 4 October will take place the fourth edition of the Festival “Tastes Passages Messages from a Region” between the Friulian Dolomites in the Pordenone area and the foothills of Pordenone. This year, the Festival is back with a new format: 4 itineraries covering 4 areas of the region, each offering a wealth of free activities to enjoy over the weekend: Green Area – Val Colvera and Val Tramontina Orange Zone – Upper Valcellina Area Azzurra – Avianese and Lower Valcellina Yellow Zone – Pordenone Foothills All events will go ahead even in the event of rain, with alternative options available for outdoor activities. Castles Open to the public FVG
“Castelli Aperti”, organised by the Consortium for the Preservation of Historic Castles in Friuli Venezia Giulia, was established with the aim of facilitating access to the historical heritage represented by the region’s castles and other fortified structures. On the ancient staircases of fascinating medieval castles, you will be welcomed personally by the owners – exceptional hosts – or by professional tour guides; together with them, you will step back in time to discover a historical heritage that has remained hidden until now. In the province of Pordenone, the participating castles are Spilimbergo, Valvasone, Pravisdomini (Palazzo Panigai-Ovio), and Cordovado. The event will take place on 3 and 4 October.
